Description:
A small, chunky leaf-warbler with similar to other leaf warblers, but well-patterned plumage. Combination of broad yellowish-white supercilium and crown-stripe (contrasting with dark olive sides of crown), double yellowish-white wing-bars, well-defined yellowish rump, and whitish underparts. Lacks white on tail.
Distribution:
Common summer visitor to resident in south-western districts of Ghizer, Gilgit, Diamer, Astore and Nagar. Breeds chiefly in spruce-fir forest, mixed with some broadleaf deciduous and pine trees with moderate understory at 2200-3200m.
Behavior:
Forages alone, or with one or two conspecifics in winter; often in mixed-species flocks in non-breeding season. Feeds both high up in canopy and low in understorey; at least in winter months. Diet insects and their larvae; feeds on smaller prey items than those taken by its sympatric congeners.
